Updates to the Micronauts Homepage
A Brief History of the Micronauts Homepage
A Credits for those who helped make the Micronauts Homepage what it is.
February 26, 2010
Alas, my attempt at having the Micro-Outpost web site be financially self-sufficient was consuming a great deal of my personal time. So, today, I closed the Micro-Outpost Mall. It wasn't really making much money anyway, and with the economy as it is, I was always having to make updates as advertisers folded or moved to other affiliate sponsors. The Micronauts homepage is still online, don't worry!

After a couple of ownership changes, I wanted a change from my current ISP and I moved! Unfortuantely, my experience with the new ISP was DREADFUL, to the point where I thought they had gone out of business (they claimed later that their own firewall was blocking me from accessing their site). Anyway, I quickly moved to IXHosting and that's where I am now.
January 27, 2003
I've started working on the figures sections, so my pardons if some of the links from the map section don't work too well. I'm still waiting on some funds to get a digital camera that I can take some good photos, so currently I'm making do with the shots I have scanned in. I'm still working on Pharoid, and Galactic Warrior has yet to be done.
September 2002
The Micronauts are being re-released! Palisades Toys is producing a limited series of Micronauts, scheduled for September/October 2002. From their web page, it looks as though the first group will feature Baron Karza/Andromeda, Force Commander/Oberon, Time Traveler, Space Glider, Acroyear, and Membros.
July 2002
The Micronauts comics are starting up again! Devil's Due Publishing and Image Comics are making a new Micronauts comic, with a new story line and new character roles. From the first issue, it appears that Biotron is a bad guy, but I won't spoil any more of it. Issues should be in stores already. Here's an article from the New York Daily News.
July 6, 2001
I moved the Interchangebles, Lords of Light, and Microman sections to micro-outpost and took them off of concentric.net, hopefully accelerating the date at which I can close down the original site. This was also a good time to clean up some sloppy HTML coding (hey, I didn't know any better at the time!).
January 4, 2001
The Galactic Defender page is complete. The pictures are kind of grainy, but such is life.
December, 2000
I've begun work on the 3.5" figures section. Unfortunately, the pictures I took haven't turned out as well as I had hoped, but I'm making do with what I have. Any big picture donations would be much appreciated! :-) This month saw Acroyear and Acroyear II, though the latter is missing some pictures as my film didn't develop as well as I had planned.
February, 2000
I transferred the comics section from my old homepage to micro-outpost. I found out an interesting bit of computer trivia: if you have a file named com1.jpg, com2.jpg, etc., when you copy it to an NT server, the computer might try to copy it to COM1 (serial port) instead. So, I renamed all my comics pictures so this wouldn't happen again.
October 26, 1999
The aliens section is finally done! Chromantron, Equestron, and Iguanos finish up the section. I will probably add some more pictures of the aliens as I take them, especially for Sharkos. I also need a good way of photographing the Terraphant box, since it's too big to fit on a scanner.
September - October, 1999
A flurry of activity when I should be studying! Lobstros, Ampzilla, Hornetroid, Sharkos, and Terraphant are all done - only three more aliens to go!
August 27-28, 1999
Lobros, Membros, and Repto's webpages are complete and are posted to micro-outpost.
August 27-28, 1999
Centaurus and Kronos's webpages are complete and are posted to micro-outpost. I'm still looking into a problem with http 1.0 browsers not being able to see my site. I think it has something to do with icom.com's virtual hosting...
August 24, 1999
I copied the webpages from my old site into the new so that there will be (more or less) a complete reference for Micronauts while I work on the new, expanded webpages, which are taking much more time than I had hoped. Anyway, there are old pages for vehicles, cities, misc, and giants. There's still a hole in the alien section, but that's where I'm working right now.
August 9, 1999
I'm beginning to work on the Aliens section now. Antron is mostly finished, pending a scan of the reverse of his card.
May 22, 1999
The Magno figures section is complete! I'm now removing them from concentric net to solely reside on micro-outpost.com.
March 9, 1999
In a whirlwind effort (instead of doing my homework), added Lantaurion, Green Baron, King Atlas, and Pegasus pages. The missing boxes are waiting patiently for a scanner.
February 6, 1999
Added Baron Karza, Force Commander, and Andromeda pages. I will have to scan their boxes and add them later,w hen I have access to a scanner (Santa?).
January 30, 1999
Adding new pages to the new site, including Emperor and Megas. Also making same-time updates to the map section before posting changes.
January, 1999
Replaced counters with a new counter. Finally, I got a new ISP - icom.com. They had a good monthly rate and gave me 25 MB of disk space. I also got to have a domain name www.micro-outpost.com. I am now in the process of putting new things on this site and replacing the concentric.net pages one at a time. The marketplace section now resides on micro-outpost, except for the ad form.
November, 1998
Making the first stabs at actually replacing some of the old pages with the new prototype pages. The web counters which were formerly housed at Carlow College were killed off by the remaining staff.
August, 1998
Map is put on hold since I'm out of disk space with my ISP and more space costs $$$. Investigating other ISPs to host the site.
June, 1998
I'm starting to put together the site map. This is kind of difficult, since I don't quite have the entire site completed in my head, but it's forcing me to nail together a structure. The site map will make it possible to get to any page on my site with one click (instead of burrowing down through the tree structure.
January-April, 1998
The individual homepages for each Micronaut start to be put in place, starting with the Magno figures (which are almsot done). In order to facilitate moving to the new structure of homepages, I redesigned the old site with the new structure. It didn't take me too long, and helped to achieve my goal of reducing price gouging by distributing the "rare" Micronauts into other categories. Most of the navigation icons were finished in February, which left me a few moments to do most od the vehicles in March. I had been taking photographs of nearly every Micronaut I have (I used up four rolls of film so far) taking multi-angle snapshots for each homepage.
December, 1997
At long last, after planning since July, 1997, the new framework (in actual HTML code) for the Micronauts homepage starts to take place. Right now, it's in the Prototype section and doesn't have much content, save for links to a rough description of Emperor. I'm starting to flesh out this skeleton, but it's slow going.
November, 1997
The overall layout (minus a few last minute changes) for the new Micronauts Homepage is firmed up in my head (you think I write this down?). There will be more of a tree-like structure, which may involve a few more clicks to get the information you want, but I'm hoping that the information will be better and more intuitive.
